  12. became one of only 14 major leaguers ever
  13. to win the Triple Crown. That year, he led the 
  14. majors in home runs (44), batting average 
  15. (.326), and RBIs (121). He also led the Red 
  16. Sox to the American League Championship! 
  17. Carl hit .400 during the World Series, but 
  18. the Sox lost to the St. Louis Cardinals
